Not being a Church that does Alpha, but being an Alpha Church, we are starting a new season of Alpha.
Commencing Friday 26th April 2019 we will be running Alpha on Friday evenings.
Alpha’s vision is the evangelisation of the nations, the revitalisation of the church and the transformation of society. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to explore a personal relationship with Jesus, wherever they are in the world, for free.
What is Alpha? https://youtu.be/fViYK_Xb3Wg
What is it? Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith. Each talk looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation.
Where is it? Alpha is run all around the globe, and everyone’s welcome.
How does it work? No two Alphas look the same, but generally they have three key things in common: food, a talk and good conversation.
Then come along 26th April 2019
Sizewell Weekend 1st to 3rd of February 2019
Over the years the CCF church family have had some great times together at Sizewell Hall. Sizewell is just outside the town of Leiston. The Hall is a beautiful old building with spacious grounds overlooking the beach. Our weekend away is a wonderful opportunity to relax, have fun and get to know each other better as we worship God and have the chance to grow in our relationship with Him.
We are looking forward to welcoming Sandy Miller as our speaker for the adults. The Rt. Rev'd John Alexander Kirkpatrick (Sandy) Millar practiced for 10 years as a barrister before being ordained into the Church of England in 1976. He joined the staff of Holy Trinity Brompton as curate in 1976, becoming Vicar in 1985. He oversaw the growth of Holy Trinity Brompton to the largest church in the Church of England and its 'church planting' initiative into church buildings in other parts of London on the verge of extinction. He was responsible for overseeing the growth of the Alpha course from a small local parish resource to one used by thousands of churches around the world.
On Saturday afternoon there is time to ‘chill out’, to play games, do a jigsaw or explore the surrounding area. Saturday evening we have some sort of entertainment or quiz.
Over the weekend you are asked to be on a rota and share in helping with things like the washing up which is a great opportunity to chat with people and grow in fellowship.
If you have not been before, why not come along? It’s great fun and a great experience. If you cannot manage the whole weekend why not come for the day. If you would like to know more about the weekend please speak to Alison Goodchild, Cathy Banks or Lynn Hayward.
